Deputy Dagestani Interior
Minister Brig.General Magomed Amorov's car was target this morning at
07:24 in Makhachkala the capital of Dagestan in the Russian Federation.
The Dagestani prosecutor's office has opened a criminal case after an
explosion went off in the center of Makhachkala at 7:26 a.m. Moscow time
on Monday. Sources in the prosecutor's office said that the criminal case
has been opened on charges of an attack against a police officer. The
Emergency Situations Ministry's duty officer said that the blast took
place when the car of Dagestani Deputy Interior Minister Magomed Omarov
was travelling along a new bridge across a railroad. Omarov and his driver
sustained minor injuries. The explosive device is believed to have been
planted near the road. Imam Yaraliyev, The Prosecutor General of Dagestan
stated that they will soon reach the criminals. Agency
