Adyghea Premier welcome repatriates

Gennady Mikichura, The Premier of Adyghea in the Russian Federation held a meeting with The Adyghei intelligentsia and repatriates on the 21st of May 2003. Gennady Mikichura asked better relations with the Diaspora and transparent solutions for repatriate problems. "Repatriation must be encouraged and problems must be discussed with meetings," stated The Prime Minister.

Absence of Monument is due to politics

Premier Mikichura stressed on the importance of Diaspora and declared that he is in favor of founding "Adyghei Home." "Absence of monument in memory of Forced Migration is not an economic question but is due to politics," stated Mikichura.

Legal obstacles on Repatriation

Repatriates expressed their problems in Adyghea and stressed that repatriates are courageous people and need no financial state support. They are hard working people. Repatriation is an ongoing process and when evaluate the last 10 years we can't say that repatriation has been a success with the exception of Kosovo Adygheis. It is a matter of organization and need firm repatriation policies.

Russian and Caucasus Diaspora difference

Russian Federation has enacted liberal policies to Russian repatriates but has acted with prejudice to The Adygheis and is not considering them as Diaspora of Russia and in its consequence "The Repatriation to Adyghea" is not successful.

Premier's promise

Gennady Mikichura, The Premier of Adyghea promised to push the subject with the Federal Government and referred to President Putin's efforts on Russian citizenship and interpreted it in favor of The Adyghei People. The Premier of Adyghea will welcome the participants of The World Circassian Congress after their regular Nalchik congress in August 2003.
