Caucasians meet at Ramadan dinner

Many distinguished persons and dignitaries attended the Ramadan dinner of The Caucasus Foundation.
Speakers were: Mehdi Nüzhet Çetinbaş, the president of the Caucasus Foundation, Said Hasan Abu Muslimov, special envoy of the president of Chechnya Aslan Maskhadov, Hüseyin Kansu, FP member of parliament of the Republic of Turkey, Kemal Yavuz Ataman, president of the Foundation of Voluntary Organizations of Turkey. A presentation of Agency Caucasus and www.kafkas.org.tr took place at the end of the dinner.

İstanbul-Caucasus Foundation of İstanbul gave a Ramadan dinner on Sunday at the premises of the MÜSİAD, The İndependent Association of İndustrialists and Businessmen. Many high ranking persons and distinguished guests attended the dinner.

Mehdi Nüzhet Çetinbaş, President of the Caucasus Foundation, spoke on the situation in Chechnya. Çetinbaş said "Policies of Turkish Government have left the oppressed Chechen people to the mercy of Russians" however, he continued "Turkey cannot keep its indifference forever, because of its historical, cultural and religious ties."
"We, as Caucasus Foundation, have mobilized every possible means to heal the wounds of the Chechen People", "A destructive burning fire is persisting at Caucasus, Chechnya is burning ablaze, half of the Chechen population are refugees" Çetinbaş, said.

Pains to Chechens

Çetinbaş said "Practice of the Administration in Turkey is pressing the Chechen refugees" Each refugee is asked to declare 1500 USDollars and entry is denied to those unable to declare, even if a wounded person".

Çetinbaş continued to explain that "The painful practices started with the Turkey-visit of the Russian premier, and continues to suffer the Chechens by refusing to grant refugee status". "This ill treatment is very disappointing for Chechens and for us as well". "Orders issued by the administration is impeding the voluntary organizations who is trying to help the Chechen People".

Russia misleads

Çetinbaş further explained that "The whole world is onlooking to what is happening to the Chechen Nation, while Russia is deceiving the world and covering its invasion of Chechen lands, with disguise and intrigues", "Chechen People is living at Caucasus since time immemorial and 4000 years with the other nations of Caucasus. What Russia is doing is deportation and forcing to migration.

The government of Turkey needs to pay attention to Turkey's historic ties and five million Turkish citizen's relations and sensitivity. The next step of Chechens will be the international platform of courts, and we will support them", said Mehdi Nüzhet Çetinbaş.
