A Law conference in London on international rule of law

London- 11 September 2001 American attacks and its aftereffects in the field of international politics have also triggered new discussions on human rights within the scope of international rule of law.

Two different approaches are visible on human rights and war jurisprudence in consideration of the American sweeps in Afghanistan and at a lower intensity in other areas of the world. A school of jurists considers that a 50 year old system of laws are no more compatible and must be reviewed for the needs of the new century and another school of jurisprudence considers that the current body of international law is like a one sided sword and manufactures double codes against the rights of Muslim Peoples.

Take for example the attitude of The American manufactured organization called "Human Rights Watch" and British custom tailored organization "Amnesty International": The Daily Telegraph of 4 May exposed them. The said organizations were particularly careful in their wording about the atrocities in Jenin. They avoided to use the word "Massacre" but rounded it up for easy swallow and named it "Excessive use of force by Israel !"

Misery of the United Nations with inability to send observers to Palestine and double standards of the international organizations in above referred matters have created doubts about their credibility.

Justice International is a global network of lawyers promoting international human rights standards, justice and fair trial is established in year 1992. Has offices in Europe, Americas and Asia. Justice International organized a conference in London on 7-8 May. The conference is named "International rule of law and the mechanism for the enforcement of human rights." NGO representatives and academicians from several Muslim countries attended the conference.

Caucasus Foundation joined the conference with a lengthy report named "Endless Genocide at Caucasus and Chechen tragedy" and a declaration named "Clouds are cast over the 'Crime against Humanity'." The Report of The Caucasus Foundation enjoyed strong interest all along the two days of conference.

Caucasus Foundation declaration said: "Forced Deportation from Caucasus is no reference to a historical period. The current genocide in Chechnya and banishment of more than 500.000 population from their homeland is a direct reference to the imperialistic ambitions of the current Russian militarizm and originates from and is continuation of the year "1864 Great Forced Deportation" from the Caucasus." Terror politics of the Russian imperialism have staged this forced deportations with intervals since then.

Lets remember that 1.000.000 innocent civilian population were forced to leave their homeland Caucasus in conditions of the year 1864 and what a great number was this when compared to world population of year 1864 and what a tragedy it was. And lets further remember the more recent monstrous deed of the Soviet Russian dictator Stalin when he ordered to exterminate the nations of the Caucasus to the bare lands, to steps of Siberia and Kazakhstan in years 1943 and 1944. The banished nations Chechen-Ingush, Karachai-Balkar, Crimeans, Mesketians' tragedy continues today with its after effects. So, right here today it is the very real continuation of the forced deportation and continuation of the genocide."

The last speaker of the conference was Ahmet Mercan, President of MAZLUMDER Istanbul branch. Mazlumder is a Human Rights organisation. Ahmet Mercan said that "September 11 is a new breaking point in human rights. The United States started an attack in a manner that did not suit the qualities of a legal state. Some states in Europe carried out urgent regulations in their laws that did not suit human rights. Actual situations that were not in conformity with a legal state were established. While carrying out these implementations, the weakness of the understanding of human rights came up and a style of explanation came up: "Sacrificing freedom for security."

"The need for a new self-criticism and a new leadership to the abondoned human rights concept rises," said Ahmet Mercan.
